Description:
This 11,000 SF building was constructed in 1914 as a "temporary"
facility. The
current renovations included gutting the building, installation of
new concrete and structural
steel reinforcement to the building, construction of 6 new ground
floor apartments and
1 second floor apartment, and renovations of existing apartments.
The original bead board
ceiling material and hardwood flooring was preserved. Exterior work
included maintaining
original siding and repairing or replacing with like materials as
necessary. All exterior doors
were replaced with long leaf pine doors. Windows and doors were replaced
in original
locations shown on available plans and photos. Copper gutters and
downspouts were salvaged from another building on the Base, and reused
on Building 45. |
